South Heart Clinic Celebrates First Cardiac Rehabilitation Graduate, Highlighting the Importance of Recovery Beyond Treatment
Harlingen, TX — South Heart Clinic is celebrating an important milestone with the graduation of its first cardiac rehabilitation patient, Gerardo Solis, marking a new chapter in the clinic's commitment to comprehensive cardiovascular care.

After completing a 12-week cardiac rehabilitation program, Gerardo has made meaningful progress in his recovery, reporting improved strength, increased endurance, and a noticeable improvement in his overall well-being.
Throughout the program, Gerardo participated in supervised exercise and educational sessions three times a week, with each visit lasting approximately 90 minutes. The program was designed to help him build endurance, improve his cardiovascular health, and develop sustainable lifestyle habits to support his long-term recovery.
Cardiac rehabilitation goes beyond physical exercise. Participants receive education and guidance on important aspects of heart health, including nutrition, healthy cooking, blood pressure and cholesterol management, and maintaining a positive and healthy mindset. Progress is also monitored through measures such as metabolic equivalents (METs), which help assess exercise capacity and functional improvement.
For Gerardo, the difference has been noticeable.
He shares that he feels significantly better, no longer gets winded as easily, and feels stronger than when he first began the program. While completing cardiac rehabilitation marks an important achievement, Gerardo understands that recovery is an ongoing commitment.
He recognizes that his recovery has started, but it does not end here.

Leading the program is Albert Lozano, Exercise Physiologist at South Heart Clinic, who has worked closely with Gerardo throughout his rehabilitation journey.
For Albert, seeing the clinic's first cardiac rehabilitation graduate make such meaningful progress is especially rewarding.
"I have seen Gerardo's improved healthy lifestyle, including blood pressure and cholesterol levels and his MET's. This will carry him on to live a longer, healthier life with a healthy heart."
Through its Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, South Heart Clinic aims to help patients regain confidence in their physical abilities, better understand their cardiovascular health, and take an active role in reducing future cardiac risks.
Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically supervised program designed to support individuals recovering from certain heart-related conditions or procedures. Through structured exercise, education, and lifestyle guidance, patients receive the tools and support needed to move forward with greater confidence.
Gerardo's graduation represents more than the completion of a program. It represents the beginning of a stronger, healthier approach to life after a cardiac event.
Recovery doesn't stop after treatment. It continues with the right care, education, and commitment.
South Heart Clinic is proud to celebrate Gerardo's achievement and looks forward to helping more patients take the next steps in their heart health journey.
